Ironfest is held at the Lithgow Showground, in Lithgow;
a small town located in a sun drenched valley on the western side
of the Blue Mountains World Heritage National Park.
NOTE NEW TRAFFIC CONDITIONS
Access to parking has changed. (See following instructions.)
Please obey all traffic signs & instructions from traffic controllers.
WEATHER WARNING!
The weather in April in Lithgow, being in the Mountains at over 900m above sea level,
can be quite extreme, most likely very cold (the last two Ironfest's have been arctic & very windy
- in 2008 the festival organizers were scraping off snow and ice from the marquees
and Hessian fencing while packing up!) but it can also be quite warm
(in 2005 on two perfectly calm days the temperature hit 25 degrees Celsius).
Best to check the weather before heading out to Lithgow, and if it says cold prepare for snow.
Hint: no matter what they say, always bring a jacket.

Travelling to Lithgow
from Sydney by car,
You will need, at some time, to get onto the M4 Motorway
which then becomes the Great Western Highway.
Follow it past Katoomba; Lithgow is about thirty kilometers
further west, (1/2 an hour further by car).
Once you have reached Lithgow, you will need to take a
right hand turn off the highway (take the turn where the sign indicates
'Lithgow and Windsor'. A Macdonald's restaurant is located on the opposite corner.
Proceed for about another kilometer before turning into
the first street on your left, to pass under an old railway
bridge.
You will be now entering: 'The Kingdom
of Ironfest'.

here for Festival Site Map)
After passing under the old railway bridge,

to off-street parking and others will direct you to a suitable location in which to park your vehicle.

Although festival security and the Lithgow SES will be patrolling
the car park areas for the duration of the festival, the festival organizers will
take no responsibility for loss or damage to your vehicle.
There is an area set aside just outside the festival site for disabled parking.
