Greetings Ironfesters, I’m coming to Ironfest for the first time in 2010 with my deer skin footwear and other goodies.

I am a maker of leather goods, ceramics, art, sculpture, baskets, books, raw food, woollies, other stuff and round things. My degree is in ceramics. I have worked as a film editor, potter, sculptor, stencilling artist, teacher, decorator, cleaner, SCUBA instructor, events organiser, arts administrator, manager and book-keeper. I volunteer on committees, at co-ops, music festivals and organic farms. I’m English, but not entirely; I’m also an Australian who did a lot of growing up in South Africa. My ‘religion’ is probably nature and ethics.

I have trained in arts and crafts from my earliest school days so I can paint and draw but I prefer working in 3-dimensions. Traditional trades and crafts are what really blow my hair back. I swoon at things that have been considerately hand-made because I think they can radiate more charm, heart, strength, specialness, social connection, usefulness, quality, depth, beauty and individuality… while buying local supports communities in a simple way that is pro-sustainability. In essence I just love individually handcrafted things. I find them way more pleasurable to live with and comfortable to purchase.
