I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jeff Peck and I am a Custom Knifemaker, from NSW AUSTRALIA
I started making knives about 33 years ago for my own use and my interest and time spent making knives has gradually increased.
In 2004 I started making knives full time. I have been attending hunting and gun expos in Sydney and other large towns and cities and the interest and sales have been overwhelming.
I have had articles in the Australian Knife Magazine – ‘Knives Australia’ and I have also sold knives in New Zealand, Germany, France and USA.
I make a variety of knives – from hunting and outdoor knives to kitchen knives – as well as investment grade knives for collectors.
I don’t see why a knife can’t work well, and LOOK GOOD.
I can also make knives to YOUR design. The knives in this catalogue are an example of my work. Some have been sold – MOST designs CAN be replicated, depending on material availability.
They all come with both a handstitched leather sheath individually crafted by me to suit each knife and a presentation pouch.
I find the creativity that knifemaking allows me is very gratifying, I now get to use my engineering skills as an ‘art form’.
I am honoured to have been awarded a fellowship with the Australian Institute of History and the Arts, as in its 20 year history the Institute has awarded just 100 of these fellowships.My knives are all designed, and made by me, from start to finish.
Steels used - Carbon Damascus (handforged by me) Damasteel (Stainless Damascus) ATS 34, and 440C Stainless and D2.
Handle Materials – I use mainly natural products for handles.
For example:
Australian Buffalo Horn, Antler, Mother –of-Pearl, Australian Hardwood.
I also use Micarta and other embellishments, like turquoise. Mosaic Pins etc.
